Do I need to have a Argyle Community Library Card to borrow books?
The library is open to all residents and seasonal residents of the Local Services Board area which covers the townships of Pringle, East Mills, McKonkey, Blair and Hardy from Commanda to Hwy. 69. Membership is free.
Is there a charge to get a Library Card?
No, it does not cost you to get a library card.
Membership is free.
How do I get a card?
To become a member of the library you have to register and fill out a form at the library office during your first visit; as a registered member you have to sign in and out each visit; the membership is free. Non-residents will be asked for a local contact.
If you wish to use the library computers for internet access, there is an agreement to sign.
How long can I keep out what I borrowed?
Books - 3 weeks
New Books - 3 weeks
DVD's and Video - 1 week
What is the policy on borrowing the projector & screen?
A form needs to be filled out. Available for 1 week
There is a check list for loaning equipment (a list of all parts) that must be signed when taking items out and again when bringing things back by both the patron and volunteer.
If I return my items late, how much will my fine be?
We appreciate you bringing what you borrow back on time. However, we do understand from time to time, you may be late. Currently no fine.
What if I lose a book or damage it?
Unfortunately, lost or damaged books will need to be replaced and paid for by you. Please speak to the staff member at the Help Desk and they will assist you in making arrangements.
How do I renew a book?
To renew a book please visit the library staff.
